Being a paramedic isn't like the television series Casualty, according to an ambulance service worker from Somerset hoping to encourage people to join up.
Nick Tolson, 50, from Shepton Mallet, is a student paramedic who has been working in the ambulance service for the past four and a half years.
He has organised an emergency services open day next month to engage with the local community – while also hoping to recruit some Shepton residents to become new paramedics.
